Celebration
DTU Sustain Colding Award 2023
For the first time in the history of the department, DTU Sustain celebrated the DTU Sustain Colding Award. At the event, prizes were awarded for Course of the Year, Best MSc Thesis, and Best BSc/BEng Project. The DTU Sustain Colding Award is named after Ludvig August Colding (1815-1888).
Best student projects
The teachers at the department had nominated the best MSc Thesis and the best BSc/BEng Project they had supervised during the year, and a committee then selected the winners.
The prizes were awarded to the projects that best combined quality, originality, and an attractive layout.
The winner of the DTU Sustain Colding Award for Best MSc Thesis:
Aske Folkmann Musaeus with the thesis “Modelling of the Mekong River with ICESat-2 Land and Water Elevation”.
Supervisor: Peter Bauer-Gottwein
External supervisor: Nicola Balbarini (DHI Group)
The winner of the DTU Sustain Colding Award for Best BSc/BEng Project:

Supervisor: Teis Nørgaard Mikkelsen
Technical supervisor: Flemming Møller
The winner of the DTU Sustain Colding Award for Course of the Year 2022/2023:
12132 LCA Modelling of Waste Management Systems Course Coordinator: Anders Damgaard
Teachers: Valentina Bisinella and Heather Margaret Logan
The students from the department study board decided the winner of Course of the Year, which is praise for outstanding efforts in teaching and this award is also meant as a motivating force for all the lecturers, teachers, and technicians involved in our courses. The idea is to promote a dynamic development and ongoing improvements of the courses.
It was a great joy to celebrate this event and praise the winners of the whole department for the first time. The cake buffet was just as delightful as the former DTU Environment Colding Award cake buffet used to be.
