Geo Lab

The Geo Lab is the main laboratory for Geotechnics and Geology. It supports research and teaching within civil infrastructure sustainability

Geo Lab facilities in DTU's building 129.

The laboratory hosts facilities for element testing of soils and rocks and the geotechnical beam centrifuge of 5.2m diameter.

Equipment is available for advanced characterization of physical (e.g. porosity, thermal conductivity) and mechanical (stiffness and strength) properties of soil and rock samples.

The effects of temperature can also be assessed in frozen soil samples. At the geotechnical centrifuge, the performance of geotechnical structures (foundations, retaining walls, slopes) is studied.

Geo Lab is situated at DTU Lyngby Campus, building 128 and 129.
